当前，动物源性疾病严重威胁人类生命健康和经济社会发展。秉承”健康一体“（One Health）理念，华中农业大学创办了Animal Diseases英文刊，致力于汇集多学科交叉领域最具突破性的进展和最具原创性的成果，追踪报道尖端技术和产品，搭建全球范围内的动物疾病领域一流学术交流平台。
Animal Diseases由华中农业大学陈焕春院士与美国乔治亚大学终身教授傅振芳博士任主编，11个国家动物疾病相关领域权威科学家组成强大的编委阵容。刊物将与国际知名出版商合作，采取开放获取（OA）模式在线出版，预计上线时间为2021年年初。刊物面向动物疾病相关领域的研发人员长期征稿，初期投稿将免除发表费并快捷审稿。
《动物疾病》着重于刊发动物疾病发病机理的最新进展以及流行病学及其预防和治疗相关方面的研究。该期刊将发表原创论文和综述，包括但不限于以下主题：
➢ 新发动物疾病的病原体
➢ 动物和人畜共患疾病的流行病学
➢ 动物和人畜共患病原体的宿主嗜性和跨界传播
➢ 新发和再发动物疾病的病理生理学
➢ 普通病、遗传病和代谢病的病因

➢ 兽药合理使用及发明和新型疗法
➢ 耐药性和药物残留
➢ 诊断标识和新型诊断工具

篇幅要求文章
正文（不包括摘要，参考文献和图例）应少于4 000个词。摘要字数上限为200词，且无引用文段。文章最多可以包含8个展示项（图和/或表）。报告：字数限制为2 500个词，不包括引言部分，参考文献和插图说明。报告中的显示项（图和/或表）不得超过5个。综述：篇幅应少于10 000词，最多可包含10个图形/表格。

Inauguration of Animal Diseases: Call for Paper
Animal Diseases is a peer-reviewed, open access academic journal sponsored by Huazhong Agricultural University and published by a well-known international publisher. The journal will be published on a quarterly basis in English and the first issue is scheduled to be online in March of 2021.
The editorial board is composed of top scientists from 11 countries, with expertise in various fields of veterinary medicine with the founding chief editors of Dr. Huanchun Chen (Huazhong Agricultural University, China) and Dr. Zhen F. Fu (University of Georgia, USA).
Topics
The journal Animal Diseases seeks for manuscripts that focus on recent advances in the understanding of the pathogenesis or epidemiology of animal diseases, as well as the progresses toward their prevention and treatments. This journal will publish original research articles and reviews, including, but not limited to, the following topics:

⟡ Epidemiology of animal and zoonotic diseases
⟡ Host tropism and transboundary spread of animal and zoonotic pathogens
⟡ Pathogenesis and biology of new and re-emerging animal diseases

⟡ Immunology and host-pathogen interactions
⟡ Rational use and invention of veterinary drugs and novel therapeutics

Paper Length
Article: The main text (excluding abstract, references and figure legends) should be 4,000 words or less. The abstract is 200 words maximum and is unreferenced. Articles can contain up to 8 display items (figures and/or tables).
Report: The text is limited to 2,500 words, excluding the introductory paragraph,references and figure legends. Report should have no more than 5 display items(figures and/or tables).
Review: The text has a maximum word count of 10,000 and may contain no more than 10 figures/tables.
